A landing page is a standalone web page designed specifically to have your potential customers take an action.
This is called a call-to-action. Whether it’s to obtain an email address, phone number, or even convert sales, it’s important to design your landing page on ClickFunnels with one specific goal in mind!
Don’t confuse landing pages with a websites homepage. Homepages are used to redirect your visitors to different parts of your website, while a landing page has one goal in mind.
This is important to remember when building your first landing page!
In this comprehensive article, we’ll break down how you can create high performing landing pages on ClickFunnels. Whether you want more sales or leads, this article will show you how to do it.
Here’s the step-by-step guide to get you started!
If you haven’t joined ClickFunnels yet, you’ll need it for this tutorial. You can sign up for a 14-day free trial here.
Creating a Funnel with ClickFunnels
To start, login to your ClickFunnels Dashboard and navigate to the funnels section. Once you are there, you’ll then want to click the Add New button.
Once you do, you’ll be prompted with this popup. Make sure you go with Classic Funnel Builder and click the Create New Funnel button.
After you click Create New Funnel, you’ll be given three options for your goal. For this example, we’ll choose Collect Emails since that’s the most common type of landing page.
Once you select your choice, you’ll just have to name your funnel, choose a group, and click the green Build Funnel button.
Now, you have the framework of your ClickFunnels landing page built.
Congratulations, now let’s get to the fun part – choosing a template and customizing the landing page!
Choosing a Template
After clicking the build funnel button, you’ll be brought to a page that looks like this.
The templates will be slightly different since a few of these are custom one’s I built, but the idea is the same.
Click the opt-in funnel step on the left side, and choose a template you’d like to customize. There are loads of options preloaded, so make sure you find one that fits your needs!
After you click the Select Template button, it will load directly into your funnel. Now, simply click the yellow Edit Page button to start the customizing process!
Once you do that, you’ll be brought to the page editor. Inside, you can click any of the elements inside to edit them.
It’s quite easy to delete or add elements – whether it’s a headline, paragraph or image!
Within a few seconds, I changed up the words and fonts on this page as you can see below!
At this point, you can edit your landing page to look exactly how you want it to. Fonts, backgrounds, images, and colors can be changed with a few clicks!
Now that you have created your first landing page using ClickFunnels, I’d like to go over a few things that will make your landing pages much better!

Tips for a High Converting Landing Page
Enticing Headline
Did you know that 8 out of 10 people will read a headline, but only 2 out of 10 will read past the headline?
It’s true. That’s why creating a great headline for your landing page is vital.
Here’s a few tips that will help you:
- Your headline should be specific and goal-oriented.
- Build interest with your headline, so they want to learn more!
- Use unique words, and consistently split test your landing page.
Social Proof
When purchasing online, consumers need these key factors: Know, Like, and Trust.
Using social proof will help your landing page convert more with all of these factors!
Social Proof can be anything from a testimonial to results – whatever it may be, it will help!
Video Sales Letter Sharing Your Story
Video is becoming one of the most popular marketing techniques. With a video sales letter (VSL), you have the opportunity to share your story.
This gives the customers the chance to relate to who you are and what you’ve been through!
Story-telling is extremely important in marketing when done properly. Be authentic, share your story, and watch good things come!
Call-to-Action
If you don’t ask the visitor to take a specific action, why would they?
Having a call-to-action on your landing page will help lead visitors to taking the action you’d like them to.
When a page doesn’t have a specific goal, it’s unclear to the visitor what they should be doing!
With a proper call-to-action, you have control over what you’ll be showing the customer, and they’ll have guidance on where to go next!
Do You Need a Landing Page?
Almost every business should be using a landing page. If you have any presence online, you’re leaving sales on the table if you don’t have one!
Since websites are loaded with information and navigation tools, it’s not an effective way of guiding visitors to a specific call to action.
The top marketers are using landing pages, and it’s not by coincidence. When done properly, they can help you generate leads and convert customers!
When you collect information (like an email address or phone number) from your visitors, you’re in a position to market to them.
Landing pages focus on one specific goal or action, as I’ve stated throughout this article. Minimizing distractions can go a long way in your marketing campaigns!
